Julien Alexander Fernandes of Pawtucket, RI, died unexpectedly on January 9, 2020. Julien was born on October 12, 1993, in Providence RI. He was the son of Alexander John Fernandes, Jr. of Pawtucket, RI and Jeanette Rios Diaz of Marietta, GA. He received his early education in the Coventry School System, later graduating from Tolman High School, Pawtucket, RI. He was owner and operator of A&J Moving Transportation. In his spare time, Julien enjoyed spending quality time with his extended family and was especially proud of his three young children. At a young age, Julien developed a fondness for and excelled in various football programs throughout RI, earning the nickname "Lightning" for his speed and elusiveness on the field. As an adult, Julien developed a passion for competitive weightlifting and received many accolades for his accomplishments in these events. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his devoted companion Felicia McGuire of Central Falls, RI and their 3 young children, Bryson Fernandes, Maison Fernandes and Ayiana Fernandes; sister Jatina Cooley of East Point, GA; Olivia Fernandes,Sophia Fernandes brothers Alexander Desjardin of Pawtucket, RI and Michael Fernandes, of Providence, RI; maternal grandmother, Cristina Rios of Providence, RI; paternal grandmother, Ines Costa Fernandes of Pawtucket, RI and an array of aunts, uncles and cousins and devoted friends. He was predeceased in life by his paternal grandfather, Alexandre Joao Fernandes.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, January 14th from 5:00pm - 8:00pm at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, RI 02865. Funeral service will begin at 10:00am on Wednesday, January 15th at Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Relatives and friends are invited.
